Apparently the trick is to keep busy.
Today:
- 1 gallon of yogurt made
- 1 batch of peach/thyme vinegar steeping
- 1 batch of tarragon/tomato vinegar steeping
- 6 quarts of tomato sauce
- 3 quarts of apple sauce
- 1 batch (three 1/2 pint and three 1/4 pint jars) of fig preserves that need a name (due to the rosewater and vanilla I used to flavor it)
- kitchen cleaned and dishes maintained
- peach-raspberry crisp made
- eggplant lasagna made
- diapers washed and dried and ready to be folded
- amazing 5 for $1 sweet peppers frozen
- quart of yogurt strained
- grains soaking for breads to be made tomorrow
- batch of pesto made
- 25 broilers ordered from McMurray hatchery
- cherry yogurt popsicles in freezer
- teensy bit of knitting knitted
Also I have put in a request that we see about finding room in our budged for another refrigerator - a smallish one - exclusively for keeping our eggs, extra batches of yogurt, krauts, pickles, and kimchi through the winter. Also, if I want to get started on making cheese, I'll need a space for letting it drain/set overnight and sometimes longer. My sister in law found a place for me to get a decent kimchi pot for a good price, so I suppose, if I had to, I could bury it through the winter. (I swear I'm gonna try it some year)
Also got some phone calls taken care of . The Boy had a quiet morning with his Mama, since I didn't start up until nearly three, and then he had a fun-filled afternoon with Miss Amanda. And me? I have pretty much kept it together. I hung a whiteboard on the wall of the kitchen and it's helped immensly with keeping me focused. I
Also, Sebastian offered Doug money to sleep with him*. I'm not sure how I feel about this :P
*He didn't want to stay in bed so he came out and gave Doug some "money" and asked him to come go "night night" on the floor next to him.
