I'm liking this a lot so far. Your writing style was driving me crazy as it was so familiar until I realized you wrote Synesthesia. I'm now doubly excited for this, haha. :D

I also like that you're using some character traits for Barney that you had given to Billy. Makes this feel like they're the same character in different dimensions.
