HIMYM Series Rewatch One Week Reminder
This is the final reminder that the HIMYM Series Rewatch will begin in one week, on Monday June 2nd. The first five episodes we’ll be discussing are 1.01-1.05: “The Pilot”, “Purple Giraffe”, “Sweet Taste of Liberty”, “Return of the Shirt” and “Okay Awesome”.
Here is a quick recap of the rules of the rewatch that we determined as a community back in April:
· Each week we’ll be discussing episode blocks of roughly 5 or 6 episodes, depending on how the season breaks up.
· I will post each discussion thread on a Monday (that always will be HIMYM day!) and it will function exactly like our new episode discussions used to. There won’t be any one person assigned to come up with specific questions. Instead it will be an open discussion. Anyone can post any talking points, questions, observations, favorite lines, scenes, memorable moments, gifs, videos, fanfic recommendations and so forth. It’s an entirely open discussion so feel free to post whatever is on your mind about those episodes and we'll go with the flow of wherever the conversation takes us.
· It was universally agreed that our rewatch will recognize 9.22 as the end of canon and the true finale of the series. Therefore only episodes 1.01-9.22 will be part of the HIMYM series rewatch.
· Discussion of the AU 9.23/9.24 is not prohibited but since many people don’t want to be reminded or consider it at all, for now at least when discussing or alluding to 9.23/9.24 it’s asked that you keep it behind spoiler tags to be accommodating to everyone and respect those who don’t want to talk about 9.23/9.24 and just want to discuss the old episodes and HIMYM in canon as it was meant to be (if this is something that the large majority decides they want to let slide over time it’s something that we can discuss in the rewatch threads, but for now we should start out that way since we don’t want to put anyone off from enjoying this rewatch and being able to enjoy the show again).
