I like posting once a year. Makes me seem cool. Although I'm pretty sure no one reads this anymore, let alone actually use live journal. Except rob. Hi rob! But I'm bored, and wanted to do this thingy. No lj cut because I forgot how to do them.
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before? Drank over thirty standard drinks? Yeah I'm just going to say that, to avoid thinking.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Nah I don't really DO new years' resolutions.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? No one really close but Stewie had a kid. And my friend Sophie is having one in feburary.
4. Did anyone close to you die? My cat did. Poor thing. Belle ruled, best cat ever. I will miss her/him a lot. Oo da bubble bum cat.
5. What countries did you visit? No where. Unless you include the south island. Which you should, becuse it sucks and shouldn't have to be affiliated with the rest of the country.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? A band that I not only enjoy playing with, but actually love the music that we are playing. That and a fly honey.
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? November 8th. New Zealand music takes a sheer drop.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Now that is an easy one. I finished my degree, and perhaps more importantly, finally rid myself of the hibitual and stank town that is Dunedin.
9. What was your biggest failure? I failed a paper, didn't even go to one class.
10 . Did you suffer illness or injury? Nothing major. Found out that I had the lungs of a 60 year old though. I was kind of proud.
11. What was the best thing you bought? Perhaps seasons 1-4 of gilmore girls. But more likely Metal Gear Solid 4. Now that's a game.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration? Jessy. Because she cooked for me. That was pretty cool.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed? Um I don't think anyone really. That I can think of.
14. Where did most of your money go? Pot, as always.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? I didn't get really, really, really excited about anything.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008? Sigur Ros - Inní mér syngur vitleysingur
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier. Because I have my friends around this time and I don't have to work
ii. thinner or fatter? I'd say the same size.
iii. richer or poorer? Poorer, because I'm not working
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Practise bass and general song writting.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Probably shouldn't have watched 2 hours of Gilmore Girls a night.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? I'm not too sure. I assume here in Taradale with moma and zoe and turtle and warrens clan, then to dads for something involving people I don't like.
21. This quiz writer is stupid, yes or no? Fuck you.
22. Did you fall in love in 2008? Nah, still havn't gotten that whole girl thing yet.
23. How many one-night stands? My gangsta skills are second to none, but my tuning abilitys are sorely lacking.
24. What was your favourite TV program? The usual Lost and Home & Away. I saw an AWESOME doco on sperm whales. Made my year.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? No sir.
26. What was the best book you read? I started readind 'a million little pieces.' But stopped when my friends got a T.V. I started reading a book on happiness and quitting smoking, but didn't get far. I find reading difficult. Not the comprehension, I just forget and do other things.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Gangsta rap. West coast.
28. What did you want and get? A degree! Yeah!
29. What did you want and not get? A pound.
30. What was your favourite film of this year? The Dark Knight was pretty cool. But I'm gonna say Pineapple Express. Mainly because I saw it 2 days ago. It was pretty cool.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Went to lunch at some place with mum and shit, went to dinner at some place with dad and shit. Smoked a lot of weed. Didn't see my friends. It wasn't very exciting. I was in a pretty bad mood.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Somone I could actually confide in. Who listens without going into their own mess.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? Dirty student?
34. What kept you sane? Going around to my mates flat everyday.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Still Alexis Bledel.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? The whole damn NZ election. I didn't like how it was run on both ends. I don't have the energy to rant right now.
37. Who did you miss? Scotty and Purchas and that. The original Dunedin crew. It just wasn't the same digs without them.
38. Who was the best new person you met? No idea. Probably my dealer.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008. Um. I don't know. If you think you know what you're going to do with life, you're probably wrong. So do something practical so you'll always have a job, before you start sole searching. Because if you do it when you're young you'll come out the end with no skills, and still confused.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. "Yeah -- I just took some Ecstasy. Ain't no tellin what the side effects could be. All these fine bitches equal sex to me, plus I got this bad bitch layin next to me. No doubt, sit back on the couch, pants down, rubber on, set to turn that ass out. Laid the bitch out, then I put it in her mouth. Pulled out, nutted on a towel and passed out" - Dr Dre
