You're at the foot of the master, I'm faster.

Well, I guess it's one of those rare occasions that I am actually in the mood to post. Good times. I always wanted to keep this journal active, so I could document certain events of my life. But by not posting, or posting very rarely, I can gauge what I really was doing at that time, even if I didn't write it down. That and I have a good memory of my life's events.

Christmas was good. Wasn't really that christmassy, but that happens when you get older. Which is probably a good thing, maybe. I got a psp and a magic bullet. So stoaked. Always wanted one, probably my most watched infomercial. When there was nothing else on TV I just used to watch it, it entertained me. Also got some good cd's (The Twilight Singers, Afghan Whigs, The Hold Steady, Say Anything, Alexisonfire) and Lost season 2 and other random good as stuff. Also got my 21st presents from my Mum, Dad and our family friends. They are: Fender Jaguar Bass, Roland Juno G Synth Keyboard/Workstation and some Sony CyberShot Digital Camera. So that's all good. My bass is sexual. I love. And my keyboard, it's so versitile, gonna have so much fun with it.

So New Years ay. Always fun, except for last year. January is going to be a good month. Oli's 21st is on the 5th, maybe 6th, so that'll be well wicked. Then on the 11th of January the fucken Twilight Singers are plaing in Auckland, so I'm fucken there. So excited, gonna be awesome. Then on the 12th I turn 21, so that should be cool. Then, the day after, is my 21st. Fuck. Yeah. It's at the Havelock North Scout Hall, probably around 7ish. Everyone's welcome, so if you wanna come, just give me a bell or leave a comment or something and I'll add your name to the list. I'm hoping to have 8 kegs, so it should be killa. Come along bitches. But yeah then a week later on the 19th is Big Day Out. So it's going to be a good way to ring in 2007.

So yeah, I'm going to do one of those things. You know, those things?

1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before? Play pub gigs

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I really can't remember if I had any. New years' resolutions have a pretty bad stigma behind them of not happening. So you might as well just set general goals, try to distance them from any sort of new years mentality or having to change because the year has. But anyway, my goals were probably to loose weight and pass uni. Which I both achieved.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? No, not that I can remember.

4. Did anyone close to you die? My Grandma died at the beginnng of the year, but I wasn't exactly close to her. My 6th form Science teacher died, I wasn't exactly close to him, but he was the fucken man.

5. What countries did you visit? Just stayed in good ol' predictable New Zealand.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006? I think a girlfriend. I spent a lot of the year reflecting and spending time on me etc, so I didn't really make time for girls. So it'd be nice to put a bit more effort into that area, I think I know myself well enough now. Time for someone else to.

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? I don't really remember specific dates, just events. But the events would be: El Grando Flat Warming, BZP Day, Undy Five Hundy night when we played at the Bowler, and so many partys and epic nights on the bake. Uni's fun.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Passing MUSI 110. It was an aural paper, and I passed nothing all semester, didn't even go to the final assesment, but somehow I managed to pass. I must have been scalled up, because no one from my degree was going to pass. So that was a pretty big achievment I guess lol. That and finding a way to loose weight that works for me.

9. What was your biggest failure? Probably the two english papers I took in first semester. Fucken bombed on those.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Haha, I got scurvy once, maybe twice. It was pretty interesting.

11. What was the best thing you bought? My bong. It's godly. Oh or Drangon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi, that game is beyond awesome.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration? Scott's, because I saw him in a bad mood once during the entire year, and I fucken lived with him. Always happy go lucky, and those people are worth celebrating because they make life a lot more fun.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed? Jeff's. The cunt.

14. Where did most of your money go? Pot.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Comming back home for semester break.

16. What song will always remind you of 2003? The Hold Steady - How A Resurrection Really Feels. Amoung many.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. happier or sadder? Happier. Not that I wasn't happy last year, I'm just very happy with where I am with my life at the moment.
ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner, which rules.
iii. richer or poorer? Probably about the same. I still don't work.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Um, song writting maybe. I spent a lot of the year developing my anylitical skills with music, and my theories in relation to music etc. Really gotta nail down and practise my songwritting.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? I wish I wasn't quite to reclusive. We just hung out at our flat by ourselfs a lot, which ruled, but I should have gotten out more to see my friends.

20. How will you be spending Christmas? Already done it. During the day it was a bit of my family plus my mum's partners family and my unkle's partners son and his girlfriend, it was random. Then at night, I went to my dad's.

21. This quiz writer is stupid, yes or no? I don't think anyone really cares.

22. Did you fall in love in 2006? Nope.

23. How many one-night stands? haha, zero.

24. What was your favourite TV program? Lost and Home & Away. Belle is so, so hot. It's ridiculous really.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Nah don't think so.

26. What was the best book you read? I didn't read any books. Except A Mid Summer Nights Dream, if you can call that a book.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Oh fuck man. That's a big question. I dunno, probably everything. I discoverd so much about music this year, and how it relates to me and what I like and why I like it and what I should listen to. But as far as bands go: The Twilight Singers, The Hold Steady, The Afghan Whigs etc. Finally started to the like The Doors aswell.

28. What did you want and get? A wicked fun band that plays a lot of gigs.

29. What did you want and not get? To bring a girl home.

30. What was your favourite film of this year? Oh fuck man, there's a few. It'll take me too long to think about that, can't be assed.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Hung at Simon's flat for a bit, then just hung at home. Had drinks, then town on the saturday following though.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? A girlfriend I guess. But that's always the case.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003? I'm not sure. I stopped being scene, but still wore the same basic concept: jeans, chucks and band t shirts. But I started to mix up the colours a bit, staying away from all black. And I rocked my blue sweater, and my big double breasted coast and cow boy boots. I was going for a Heroin Chic Indie Rock n Roll feel. And I had facial hair of some sort for most of the year.

34. What kept you sane? Pot.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Oh man, this girl called Nicole, who won America's Next Top Model cycle 5. So amazing. Jesus.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? I'm not really sure. I thought the whole Israel/Lebanon thing was a bit ridiculous. I was kind of hoping for something bigger to arise out of it you know.

37. Who did you miss? I'm going to piss Purchas a lot. He fucken rules.

38. Who was the best new person you met? Probably Oli. He's the man.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003. It's not exactly a new concept or anything, but it finally made sense to me this year. Just the whole thing of always being yourself, and never denying anything about you, not trying to shut out anypart of your personality. Embrace who you are and you'll learn to be happy with yourself.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. " I am cold, too cool to call you, far too stoned to leave my bed"

I hope everyone's enjoying their life. Becuase you might aswell at least try, I mean, there is no point in holding back really. Gotta do what makes you happy, even if it doesn't seem logical. That's what I preach to you all.
