TWO || DREAM

[The dream begins amidst the ruins of what was once a very large house. Where a warm and welcoming home stood there is now charred debris. The furniture is all scorched, if not outright destroyed. Only some of the walls are still standing. Most of the roof appears to have fallen in at some point, and it accounts for a fair bit of the burnt wood

You know, in some cultures, fire doesn't necessarily symbolize destruction but actually a new beginning.

This fire isn't going to herald any sort of new beginning.

He sighs heavily.]

Arson. As far as I'm aware.

Did they ever find the one responsible?

[He smiles ever faintly.]

Yes. It took a very long time, but he was finally caught.

That's good.

[And awkward silence.]

I-I'm sorry. It seems I can't leave. I hope you don't mind.

[He shakes his head.]

If you can't leave, then I don't mind.

...Who are you, may I ask?

I'm Hermione. Hermione Granger. I was brought here recently. Not exactly a welcoming feeling, all this.

[He nods in greeting.] I'm Barnaby Brooks Jr.

...No, it isn't welcoming. I apologize. [He casts a look at all the rubble. This can't be pleasant for a stranger to see.]
