Miscellaneous - Our House, Phoenix, a Concert

May 22, 2006 13:09

Thank you sooooooooo much everyone for all the congratulations!!  I am going to try to be good (for once) and come comment back.  I've been horrible at that lately.

I feel the need to point out the following things:
  • If it wasn't for college tuition funds that our parents had set up for us and that we hadn't used, plus borrowing a little money from his parents, we wouldn't be able to get a house.  We saved up money too but it would have taken us probably 5 more years (at least!) to get enough on our own.  So I should definitely thank our families for this happening
  • I will soon be even boringer than I am now because my whole life will revolve around paying this mortgage!  Although I may have some exciting adventures in "cooking" (more like burning), we'll see.
  • I put some pictures from Phoenix over on
naturekate, which I am now copy-and-pasting from Xanga to LJ (yay!).  Here's a sample of the less bird-centric pictures:

And a few bird ones cuz they are fun:

Like I said, there are more here and here (or just go to
naturekate) as well as info on where I went and all that.  Friend
naturekate if you want to read ALL my birdy/naturey stuff, not just the things that are "interesting" (BIG quote marks there!) enough for me to put on here.

My friend Violet is obsessed with this band, The X's.  She goes to a lot of their concerts, hangs out with them before and after the shows, and talks to them online.  They played in DC last Monday and she was coming down here to go see them, so I went along.  We had fun and I finally got to meet this band I hear so much about.  Here are some pictures, which I am posting so if she ever says I don't love her, I can link her back to this post and show her that I went to see them for her on a Monday night!!

Me and Violet

Me and the lead singer, John (copying me!)
And oh look I got a t-shirt, SEE VIOLET I LOVE YOU!!!

Me and the bassist Brett, who is the former lead singer of Fuel.

I went to the Faerie Festival this weekend, I may have pictures eventually...  It was a lot of fun!  And this weekend I am going to The Cottage, I'll probably bring back pictures from there too
I hope you are all doing well!
