Great blog - it's nice to see someone who has escaped the soul-crushing grind of being a grunt-level editor, and is instead doing something more creative. :) [I graduated about the same time, am still plugging away at the editing thing...]

Love the stories, love your writing style!

(Hi just added you after seeing you on ljspotlight... I've only recently plunged into the NYC bar scene under the horribly (delightfully) bad influence of a friend... and what's scaring me right now is that I'm an intern (who will likely be offered an editorial assistant's position next spring) at a publishing house right now! I've also got an NYC blog going, also hope to move here afte I graduate...but can only hope to lead a nightlife as exciting as yours :D

I caught your LJ from the Live Journal Spotlight folks. I think it's great that you took a chance. I just did the same thing a year ago, going back to school for the first time in 7 years to change my life around. I'd been working in offices for 7 years and hated every second of it. It meant leaving NYC for a few years but I'm only two years away from going back and doing something I know I'll love. So congrats to you!
