I truly have no idea what month I read these books in; sometime between February and now. :o]
5. Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner: A friend gave me this one to read on our honeymoon, I'm sure partly because the title was amusing. It did make me laugh out loud more than once. This author also wrote In Her Shoes (now a major motion picture), which I'm currently reading and not as impressed with. But I digress. Down-to-earth characters and a reasonable-yet-happy ending made this a fantastic beach read.
6. Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks: So. Good. I love this woman's writing - apparently I'm not alone, since she won the Pulitzer last year for another work. This book is fictionalized around the true story of a village in England during the time of the plague. Some amazingly beautiful language, and round characters (I'm a sucker for those).
7. Animal Dreams by Barbara Kingsolver: Another woman who I love everything of hers I've read. I cried on the bus (yes, I do that a lot) at least a half-dozen times reading this one. Story of a woman who is losing everyone in her life - her sister moves away, her father's memory is going - and finding herself at the same time (man, I'm a cheese). It really resonated with me.
I probably have read other books and don't even realize it. C'est la vie.
