im pretty damn grumpy about schedules and socializing lately.
a few days ago neither b nor i could sleep very well during a late night/early morning thunderstorm (which is somewhat unusual). turns out a tornado touched down about 15 miles north of here. they didn't sound the sirens or anything (supposedly it came on too fast for them to be able to warn anyone). a few other people i know felt really weird and kept waking up too. funny how our animal senses keep us alert when theres danger we don't rationally know about.
today it was 65 degrees. we planted peas, salad mix, head lettuce, spinach, radishes, and green onions in the neighborhood garden (all during a tornado watch). it was nice. amazingly enough the greens i transplanted in november made it through the winter and are growing again!
with gas reaching the $3.49 / gallon mark, i finally went to the bike store and got new grips (thanks free downtown dollars) and a handy dandy u-lock. next week we will make our annual "truck load full of bikes and wheel barrows" trip to the gas station air pump to fill up all the tires.
