The weather has been kinda crazy here in Sydney this past week. It hasn't stopped raining for such a long time, I can't remember the last time we had blue sky!
Up on the north coast of NSW there was some wilder weather, where one of many water spouts that often occur off shore actually crossed to land and became a tornado.
It pretty much tore apart Lennox Heads in a matter of seconds and has now been declared a natural disaster zone for relief purposes. I've never seen anything like this here in Australia. Roofs and trees and even caravans were just being plucked from the ground and were swirling in the sky.
Now, this is also the kind of area where you get real bumpkin Aussies who have never left their town their entire life and say things to the news reporters like "...it's the kind of thing you only see happen on TV in New York!!! ...Or America, or something..."
Yes. New York.
So I digress. It's just been absolutely non-stop mental rain where I am in Sydney... Heavy heavy rain... pretty miserable and dark all day long. And some flash flooding just to make crossing the road nice and inconvenient. Looking forward to bunkering down on Sunday with my blanket and getting a wriggle on with a bunch of beanies I have to make before next weekend at ski season opening weekend!!!!
