Proper Update!

Saturday night was my final night driving with the Tennis. I only got to do one drive (I was hoping for Baghdadis), but got a car load of other people. I was honoured to drive the great Geoff Pollard and his wife. Mr Pollard is the President of Tennis Australia and Chairman of the Tennis Australia Board. He's pretty much the most important person in Tennis.... they were absolutely lovely and very endearing. Even my manager whispered in my ear "do you know who they are? they're very important!", and I promised to be on my best behaviour :D

Also in the car was Craig Willis aka "the voice of Tennis". He was awesome!!! He sat in the front and chatted to me a fair bit, and is such a funny man. I reeeally like him - moreso because when he asked what I did for a living and I told him about Zwilling, he mentioned that would be great during the winters in Merrijig. And I nearly died! Merrijig pretty much right between Mansfied and Mt Buller and right around my old stomping ground when I used to live at Mt Buller. I couldn't believe it. We totally bonded (he jokingly wants to marry me now)... and he insisted I give him my business card so that he could email me and I do a few items for him. Whoah yeah! I like him, he's totally funny and then ran off one his latest ads in his best AM Radio voice. Novelty! haha. Fingers crossed "the big fat man with a big head" (his words) emails me sometime!

I had a job interview today. Probably only the 2nd one in 12 months. Bloody buggery it is SO hard to get a part-time job to fit around the specific days I need without working at Maccas. The other issue is I'm only experienced in Hotel Front Desk and have vowed to never go back to Hospitality.
Today's job was as a Hotel Receptionist at a Best Western (Jika in Melbourne was a Best Western) and only down the road from the Comfort Inn I once worked at 3 years ago. The irony was painful.

Times are such that maybe all I needed was 12 months out of the industry cuz it didn't seem so bad.. but then maybe I've totally forgotten how bad it really was. I guess the upside is that I would only be Part-Time and that would kind of make up for any issues I have with hospitality. No real responsibility in Part-Time and that seemed good.

I'm pretty keen on the job, actually. I think the interview went really well, particularly since I was completely familiar with the area, the type of hotel, very experienced, and also having just come from another Best Western property... Fingers crossed the manager sorts out what he wants from me, cuz he was a little washy about whether he wanted a casual or part timer or eventually even a full timer. I was pretty clear about the days I could only do, and that my current schedule is permanent but I was very keen about working as many days or hours on my available days. That seemed to go down alright. Fingers crossed.

Upon returning to my car after the interview, I discovered a fricking parking ticket. Turns out I parked in a Truck Zone... I just saw 1P (1 hour parking) and didn't realise it was for Trucks only - there were a bunch of regular cars everywhere so it seemed like anyone could park there. Anyway... $141 later... blah!

I got home and made myself go to the gym. I haven't been since... LAST YEAR. Christ. Awful... and I COULD TELL... my fitness has dropped considerably in 3 weeks and I wussed out a little bit but pushed myself for the session I was there. Will go back maybe tomorrow, but definitely Wednesday also.

This weekend I'm going to Big Day Out. WOOOOO. Pretty excited. The last one I went to was 2 years ago - and when I met Pete! Hee. But this year I'm just going with Beck, one of the girls I went to New Zealand with last year... guaranteed fun times :)
