heh I'm soooo lazy to update my LJ.. here are some pics from my holiday up in QLD with Peter! Wahh I wanna go back. And yes, I know my tan rocks ;D
This was the view from the unit. I've now been there a couple of times and it's starting to look pretty tired but it's in such a great location on King's Beach in Caloundra that I honestly really can't complain. Every morning I woke up first and read my book for an hour on the balcony here, checking out the people exercising at 7am and running up and down the paths. Also, all the youngin's showing up for a surf.
The beach was AMAZING all week long. Really calm surf (yay, i don't like it when it's rough) so we could just float around and catch the odd swell in for fun. The water was also soooo clear. Beautiful weather, not humid at all, and not too hot. Every day was 28C so I really liked that!
This is pretty much all I did for 5 days straight (1 day off cuz we actually got too much sun - naughty)
The Caloundra music festival was on for 4 days over the weekend while we were there, so there was alot of cool free stuff to see and do. Lots of market stalls, food stalls (yay, snags in a piece of bread!) and a couple of free stages were great. Even one stage actually ON the beach, on the sand... so at dusk we'd wander down and just sit on a towel, chill out with a drink, and watch the people dance about and enjoy some really cool local music.
One afternoon after a successful day of sunbaking, we stopped by the local bars and cafes on the foreshore for some beers. After about 3 I was pretty giddy and had to be walked home. Hehe, i look so damn cheeky, but this is a cute photo of us :)
Last day we got up early for a surf and it was a bit wilder than normal. At 7am there are actually quite a few people out and about on the beach... and they're all retired! I was also surprised to see that a large percentage of these folks enjoyed boogie boarding! Two old ladies were having a great old time, falling off off the waves and cackling away hehe so funny to see.
Us again, on the last day after our last swim!
Me - with the stock standard HAND ON HIP pose. Urgh.
And this pretty much sums up my whole week :)
I wanna go back to QLD so baaaaaaad.
