Eee.. i've been a bit slack and haven't posted any NZ holiday photos!
We started a bit of a tradition (one continued over from last year) of taking JUMP! photos at every location we went to. It was so much fun, and often something to look forward to after a long day of skiing for a bit of a laugh, or even once or twice begrudgingly obliged to because "we had to" do one for documentation purposes.
We were pretty hit and miss alot of the time, particularly with the auto-timer. But this one is gold! It's coming down from The Remarkables, and overlooking Frankton and Queenstown airport, and down to Wakatipu Lake. Aw, pretty. haha.
Beck, myself and Ruth.
Another new running joke was "ANGULAR!!", which must be called out in such a way to prove most annoying and confusing to strangers. The cry was immediately followed by myself (or any one of us) striking an odd and amusing pose wherever we were. And a string of photos ensued. haha. I love Angular.
I even did a Canyon Swing jump in "Angular" mode. haha :P
Not to be outshadowed by my first "Chair of Death" jump. Yeeee! (note the touch of one-handed Angular on the head at the start. lol.)
We had a pretty cool hotel room, where the rooms all had A-Line roofs. Beck got in the rafters. Ceiling-Beck is watching you.
There was alot of snowboarding and skiing to be had! Almost forgot! Treble Cone is now officially my favourite Southern Hemisphere ski resort. It's huge, and it consistantly gets a TONNE of snow. Including over 30cm on our last day, which gave me a huge happy.
Me and George (my board)
And alot of resting too. Boy oh boy, it took me a couple days to get my Snowboarding legs back. SO SORE! But by the end of the trip I was stellar again. I looooove New Zealand!
Not without injury though. First day, second run. Me + iceslab = FAIL + huge forearm bruise. Thanks alot Coronet Peak.
I also had some HUGE ankle issues with my boot, and on day two or three I literally cracked from the pain, and demanded a knife from the ski tech guy and slashed out a nice hole in my inner boot. Beck was a little unsure at how stable I was weilding a stanley knife and hacking at my boot in pleasure. No pics of the incident. Too violent.
Not to forget Zwilling made a good appearance.
As well as
mscate's kitty mittens. I wore them everywhere!
It snowed really low on the last day, and that means only one thing. LOTS of snow up on the ski resorts! The promise of this was pretty exciting to meeeee, even with one hand on the wheel :P
Luckily this year, we only had to put chains on ONCE the entire week. Freezing mud, awesome. (Cranky pants, much?)
But I was rewarded with a wad of cheese. Yay!
Where's my beer refill?
We made a pretty good effort on the last night, including being hit on by old dudes who bought our table a round of Tequila. Eurgh. Beck doesn't drink alcohol, and I refused to drink it (ew?)... so Ruth took it upon herself "not to be rude" and consume said shots on her own. But doing it secretely so those guys didn't see, cuz we didn't want to "reward" them by enjoying it.
But too late. He had to jump in too.
Later at World Bar, we started the dancefloor. Alright! Beck is busting her moves.
Later, a much tequila-infused Ruth macked onto some guy and pashed out on the dancefloor for about 2 hours. He was gross. And spoke with a kiwi accent which we continually made fun of, ha.
Overall, the holiday was an extreme success!!! I got along famously with the girls. So crazy and silly all week long, so many laughs.
This needless to say became a huge joke for days. FAJ!!
