Lost season 5! The heat! Big Day Out! And reality tv.

Lost premiered last night... Season 5 Episode 2 came up first, no sign of Ep 1 for at least a couple extra hours. Nobody knew WHAT was going on and I was just DYING to see it... 8 months waiting since season 4 ended and I think it was well worth the wait...

I think I was scrambling around online for active downloads for nearly 4 hours, waiting for the first possible uploads. I was tempted by Episode 2, sitting there, waiting without his Episode 1 friend... and watched the first 5 minutes... Maaaaaannnn so bad! I made a deal with myself to watch until the "LOST" logo flies by, but by 5 minutes I was hating myself for watching so much without even seeing the first ep. I stopped it. I literally had to rip my hand off to stop it but I did.

The first ep didn't come up online until just after I left work... grrr... but Chay texted me on my way home all excited, followed by some expletives on my end, and I loaded the ep up when I got home - there was no way I was going to wait until the next morning to see that episode!!!

Love love loooooved the first ep. I have a running commentary posted as I watched the ep on a forum I frequent, but wont' repost it here just incase of spoilers for you lot. :) Second ep was great, and now I just CAN"T WAIT until next week!!! I fricking love this show - top three tv shows of all time for me.

Today I got into Top Chef season 5 today as well... it's just like Gordon Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen!! Just without him. haha but, as suspected, I'm completely hooked. I got halfway through the third episode today when all the downloads I could find were crapping out on me!!!! I'm kicking myself because the ep is called "Foo Fighters Thanksgiving" - yes, Foo Fighters are on the episode!!! *whines*

The heat is unbearable lately! It's been well over 30 the last couple days. Tomorrow is hotter, hitting 35C... reaching 40C out the west - which is where I"m going tomorrow night for Rachel's belated birthday party. Fricking west. I'm gonna be a Sweaty McCrankypants.

I had no idea what to make for dinner tonight, but felt like asian... figured I'd try the local place that I'd never been to before. I really didn't know what to expect... Originally quoted $16.90 for Udon and Chicken Katsu I was only charged $14.90... haha i didn't say anything! Of course, no idea if I"m getting a box of noodles, or a bowl or something.. or what.. I honestly wasn't expecting anything fancy, just something simple and maybe something pretty average.
I was very pleased with what I got! It was huge... enough for TWO people... infact they packed two chopsticks inside haha. I was given two carry bags!! The first had a huge bowl with a really light and tasty broth, filled with some vegetables and udon noodles. The second bag had a tray with sections... with the crumbed fried chicken piece sliced up thinly, a section for green beans and chopped scrambled egg, another section for a salad with dressing, a tiny section with a teriyaki noodle topping, and finally the last section had a tiny bunch of green grapes! I assume dessert?? Oh, and a delicious dipping sauce for the chicken. It was awesome!!!
Definitely going back :)

Halfway through my meal it occured to me to take a photo... haha :P

I'm soooo full right now. It was perfect in this heat... the broth was so light, and the other dish was mostly chilled so it was great to eat on a night like this.

Today is Big Day Out here in Sydney. On my way to work at 10am, I took the liberty of driving around the Showgrounds which are right by my place. Wow, thousands of kids had already arrived... everyone looked really cool in their festival gear, and shorts and tees and sunnies!! I am kinda bummed I couldn't go this year, but I'm mostly okay with it since there wasn't anyone I was overly keen on seeing on their line-up. I just missed the festival vibe really. Feeling cool, having friends, and hanging out all day drinking lazy beers and listening to music - what's not to like? Last summer I went to all the major festivals because I could... alternating between Melbourne and Brisbane... it was so much fun. I really took advantage of it.
This morning the nearest bar at the Olympic Park was overflowing with patrons drinking beer at such an early hour. I chuckled to myself as I drove by!

On my way home tonight, the music is echoing all over the neighbourhood. It's nice, and really cool. As I waited for my dinner pick up tonight at the village square, I could hear the bands playing in the near distance... putting my ear up to the sky I tried to recognise if it was anyone I knew...

I miss the good ole days when grunge ruled the festivals and everyone wasn't a poser lol Makes me feel old, but proud.
