Final night in Melbourne!!!
Yesterday I went for lunch in St Kilda with Amanda and baby Tabetha. AWWW that kid is so freaking adorable, she's getting bigger and older now and is starting to show more and more expressions than she did when she was smaller. It's so cute when she yawns because she lets out the cutest "Ahhhhh" on the way out - made me giggle every single time.
Mandy and I spent a good few hours over lunch, talking about friends and life and love. Really great to catch up with her, especially as it's right before I"m leaving I wasn't sure if we were going to get one last catchup! I am looking forward to seeing Tabetha grow up more and more, and catching up with her and Dawesy next year sometime :)
After she left to go home and we said our goodbyes, Beesey finally rocked up in Melbourne for our session of farewell drinks that we've been trying to arrange for the past 5 weeks I'm sure. Great to see him. We started up at the Espy - and you know what? Despite pretty much all of my girl friends hating the place, I actually kinda like it there! It's really cool inside, particularly cuz I love live music, there was always someone playing! I hope I can find a big venue pub like that near my new home!!
But.... get this, we paid $21 for a JUG OF BLONDE?! What!! Get outta here..
Grabbed some nibbles and more beers... and then Keith showed up too! I haven't seen him since Winter 2007!!! Great to catch up. He showed up with a new girl... little complicated but he used to be with Jodie, and now they don't show up to the same places, so I deliberately did not invite her out last night knowing that Keith would probably be coming. I saw Jodes the other Sunday when I went out so I was happy with that.
Drinks on further down Acland St. Cheap too! Cheap pizza at 11pm at night also. Cue for me to get sleepy and suggesting going home, and I did. Beese gave me a lift and he ended up crashing on the couch. It was great to hang with him one last time, and he's told me he's definitely coming to Sydney to visit before next winter (as is Jodie, yay!) (And the rest of ya!!)
Asleep just before 2am, and I woke up at 6:30am... then again at 7:20am... and then I just got up. Urgh. My sleep has not been showing up to the party this week, so I really hope when I get back home that my sleeping pattern will return. Particularly after the hissyfit/drama/spit/crisis I experienced today during final packing, lack of sleep definitely is becoming a factor and made me snappy as all heck. But, I got through it, and I'm now currently 95% packed. My little car is so shoved full of all my crap, I almost can't believe it.
Now I"m starting to get excited about the drive. hehe I've been waiting for it!
Ross gave me money for my bed, and Iain has given me a few bucks for my desk and chair. I'm donating to the house a tall and wonky tv unit/bookshelf, a tall boy, matching bedside table, small portable towel rail... and a massive garbage bag full of clothes.
Edited to add for the hard-of-thinking: I quickly caught up with Kim today, and she gave me a lovely serving plate in a soft green colour, which is sooo pretty I can't wait to put it in the middle of my table (when i buy one) and also two smaller dipping/serving plates, which are super cute too. Thankyou sooo much xxx Going to miss ya, girl!!!
I'm sad to leave Melbourne. There so many places I still haven't been to, so I can't wait to come back for weekend vacations and go shopping ;) I love Melbourne, and I'm in all honestly going to miss it alot.
Tomorrow: A new chapter of my life begins. Wow.
