NZ Packages and plannings...
Work last night was disgustingly boring. Depressingly so. I almost never run out of stuff to do online... I guess 8 hours of boredom brought it out of me...
I have just about spent all day today researching and busting my brain for the best deals to NZ. Spent an hour with my travel agent this morning to get an idea of how the packages worked - quoted me finally $1649. A little higher than what I'd wanted to pay. Flights are screwey. I was losing hope fast.
Finally got into checking expedia and have found a neat direct flight that runs on Sundays in and out of Queenstown. You wouldn't believe the CRAP connections I was being forced to choose from. Leaving the night before, transferring onto THREE different flights. For a location that's only 3 hours away by plane. BAHAHA...
Anyway, flights are alright.. they're not super cheap but they're doable. I am going back to my agent and seeing if they can "packagerise" that flight into something for me and Jess.
My brain is melting. I've spent TOO many hours today checking and re-checking and comparing prices on this... but at least I know I've done my homework and am going to get the best rate and not get duped. Seems to be a terrible habit of mine whenever I want to travel anywhere...
Had hoped it was going to be a foursome with me & Jess, then Pete & Dave.. but dave's decided to pike on the plans and it's not going to work with three of us (hotel rooms and 3rd wheely). And then there's the skiing.. since Jess & I snowboard pretty well together, i would feel terrible because Pete would be getting left behind and wouldn't have a mate to play with during the day. Admittedly, it would be great to spend a week together but it just wouldn't work to be honest without a fourth. So yeah he decided that if he can't find another mate to come with, he wont' come. Kinda sucks... but what can ya do...
I'm also waiting to hear back from the Best Western people in Queenstown (as I work for a Best Western in Melbourne) and fingers crossed that maybe they offer a staff discounted rate for staying!! If that's the case, I will book Expedia flights and car rental because we'll come out cheaper then. Otherwise, we'll just take what we can with the travel agent this week.
I'm kinda stressed and under the pump because this New Zealand stuff has to be done in the next few days (everything good expires at the end of the month, urgh).
Also, I've got no days off since last week as I worked yesterday for the guy here at work... and this weekend is super packed with Mariel and the guys coming down... it'll be alot of fun... i just wonder how little sleep I can actually function on??
Then I'm working straight through until the next weekend again cuz Pete will be down for 2 nights! yay.
Oh.. I nearly forgot. I'm going to FOO FIGHTERS this Friday!!! :D
