Melbourne Cup Day!
What a GLORIOUS Melbourne Cup Day today. I love that it's a public holiday just for Melbourne, hee.. I didn't go this year, but went to Mel's place for a Champagne Breakfast instead :) Had a few glasses of bubbly, nibbled on BBQ chicken, an assortment of cheese, kabana and crackers, and sat outside in this amazing weather. It was sooo warm and sunny... i even got a bit of colour on my arms and chest - and then some frightful tan lines! Argh! But it's nice to get out in the sun for once!
But before long I had to settle up on some water cuz I had to leave to go work. Work. BLAH! Well, I can't say no to Public Holiday money they pay here... it's pretty good - and ti's really dead here today! so it's not like I'm doing anything much..

I also bought flights to Sydney for Christmas this afternoon. Yay! It'll be great to go home for Xmas, since I wasn't there last year and apparently nobody really did anything and Mum said "it just wasn't the same without you" heh, so i am really looking forward to spending time there this year. I do miss Christmas at home.. last year I stocked up on various German goodies from Aldi to make it *feel right* during the festive season. Marzipan, gingerbread, and chocolates... i couldnt' get thru half of them but it's just not the same if I don't eat them!
Oh, so screw work that week.. i'm going away for 4 days, they can just deal with it. Alison already said she's fine with working extra to cover my shifts.. i'll reciprocate the favour for her come January when she wants time off herself.

lol I just got this phonecall at work:
Him: "Do you have any *sjdaflksdjf* tonight?"
Me: "I'm sorry, your reception isnt' very good.. could you repeat that?"
Him: "Do you have any tonight?"
Me: "Are you wanting to check for availability??"
Him: "No.. Ladies. L-A-D-Y-S.. Prostitutes... Do you have any for tonight?"
Me: "hahah ummm No. We're a 4 star hotel, I'm sorry. I think you have the wrong number."
Him: "I called that 1-3 number, they put me through to you. Are you sure? I'm kinda lonely.."
Me: "uhhh no? I'm pretty sure we are JUST a hotel. Thanks... goodby----..."
Him: "Do you know who I can call?"
Me: "hahah no. Sorry. Uh, okay thankyou. Bye."
....
I wasn't sure if it was a prank or not.
Then the phone rang 2 minutes later - "Ahhh Me again. I'm sorry. Argh... i'll keep trying. Sorry!"
