Life changes and sometimes it doesn't and both of them are equally scary. My hands down favorite moment was when Coach pulled Julie in for a hug at the end after the phone call. That girl has got to know that she is loved, and that just made me happy.
I love that Tyra's mom is just so full of things that she doesn't know how to express. She's interfering in the homework. She's jumpy at the restaurant. She's driving too fast. I love that she knows that she's "messy." (That was my second favorite moment.) The scene between her and Tami where Tami is just kind of taken aback and full of pauses when confronted with the "whateverness" attitude of Mrs. Collette is kind of hysterical.
And let us pause now and rewind the scene where Tyra comes over to do homework. No, not the adorable chili scene, the scene before that where she's walking in the door next to Connie Britton who is listed at 5'8" and AP is still way taller than her (which of course she should be at her height.) Hey, I haven't mentioned my height fascination in at least a month or two. It was bound to bubble up to the surface sometime.
I love that this show can make me jump up and say, "OMG, Tim is going to sleep with someone in her mid 30s!" in a shocked and slightly jealous kind of way. Though without the bruise or the sunglasses, he's kind of back to being too pretty again for me. (But getting out of the truck with the sunglasses and going to threaten a bunch of fourth graders worked disturbingly well.)
