So far so good

If anyone remembers, I moved to a larger city and got hired at a company operated store from working at a LS Safeway Kiosk. I was hired as a Shift Supervisor, mostly because of my experience being the Assistant Operator at Safeway. So far, the transition and experience of working in a company store has been positive. Its hard, definitely. The policies for doing things can be pretty different, and I didnt have any real training for the SS role. Was thrown into the fire, learning on my own how to use the Mastrena (last store still used the Verissimo), how to work the oven (almost burnt my hand off the first day), the POS system (which is a god send, but can be tricky), how to count/balance tills (not that hard).

Im very happy at the Company store. My SM has only been at the location for a short time and we get along really well. The other partners are a little strange.. no one asks customers if they want Room for milk/cream in BC or Americanos, marks ups, or calls drinks which I find SO BIZARRE. SO. BIZARRE. and no one follows the BRR, which I sort of understand, but still frustrates me to see partners double barring and letting shots die because they're making 18 drinks at once.

I was going to leave the store actually, because I was feeling really down about not knowing as much in the company store, but my SM had a conversation with me and told me one of her long term goals was to promote me to ASM, So now Im staying and going to start with that after Holiday!

Yeah. Just needed to get that off my chest.
