some days i really wonder when starbucks is going to come out with a policy where we are no longer allowed to count the money that a customer gives us because it might imply that they are somehow wrong ( Read more... )

The "being cheated out of more latte" thing is so true... that's how my foam-hating friends explained it to me. These friends also stir their caramel macchiatos... I tried explaining why that defeats the purpose and they should just order a latte with caramel sauce and they didn't care.

strangest thing, new year's day. i got there at 10am, and we were DEAD DEAD DEAD. but what few customers i did get, probably 90% of them were "no foam." it was so bad that when i finally did get customers who either wanted foam or just wanted regular lattes that i'd steam an extra pitcher of milk and foam the living crap out of it. i actually scooped some of my best foam into a short cup, poured some caramel sauce on it, and ate it.

I am so glad you said that. I thought I was the only crazy cup-of-foam eater.

No foam = no fun.

I've never heard it before this week, but lately I've had lots of people asking for "flat" lattes. I hear "skinny" from lots of tourists... maybe "flat" is also a regional thing?

we have a Greek guy that orders drinks with "skinny milk". We call him, guess what, Mr. Skinny Milk. We love him. :)

I hate foam, the way it tastes and all, I get no foam lattes for myself cause I just cant stand it, however I do love to steam up a brand new pitcher of milk extra foamy for cappuccinos. I won't even lie that I get excited when this woman comes in always gets her usual grande nonfat cup of milk as foamy as we can get it. I call it her nonfat cappuccino milk cause that's basically what I do is steam her some cappuccino milk and she's always more than pleased. I love to make it, but the taste of it makes me siiiiiiiiick

i agree. i love to make it, but eating it? no way. it's not really the taste for me, though, it's the texture. i just don't like biting into my milk.

*foam eater raises hand*

With sugar free vanilla syrup. Must try with caramel sauce.

Ohhhhh yeah! Get some kickass whole milk foam going (yes, it CAN be done), add the teensiest dab of whipped cream and caramel sauce on top...uh-may-zing!

(if you want to get all fancy-pants, add a sprinkle of Cinnamon Dulce Sprinkles!)
