Hey so in order to motivate myself more, I made myself a blog. www.fort56.blogspot.com .
In the future it will probably be a collaborative space where any of my roommates and The Darker Half can post their creative ventures, but for now I just needed to start putting up my horrible Wacom scribbles.
As I learn to use Photoshop and the Wacom, excuse me ... (GOT YOU YOU SON OF A BITCH!!! ONE MOSQUITO DOWN, FIVE MILLION TO GO!) ahem,
As I learn to use Photoshop and the Wacom, the drawings will get better. But Chris is showing me up already because he learned how to use the filter. Damn it.
It is humid here. The mosquitos are breeding like they are formed of water vapor and spite. New York has a lot of both. I get bitten awake pretty much nightly, despite the installation of a screen in our window. I don't get it. I think they must fly in through the open windows in the rest of the apartment and then make their way into our room somehow. Crafty buggers. It's not like you can hear them either, they're like, FRIGGIN' NINJAS.
To answer your question, which I know is burning your soul: Fat Thing and Fat Thang are two characters I came up with earlier this year. They have since become the adopted mascot and name of Chris's company he created to bill people for whom he works. Now we get a million pieces of junk mail addressed to "Fat Thing LLC" and it's annoying. But funny for whomever takes over our apartment whenever we move!
I started the blog because I don't want to be stuck in a crappy, boring, pointless, unfulfilling job until I die with good death benefits for my millions of pets I purchased to replace my dead husband. I want to have a creative life and this is a (very) small step towards that.
I have a cavity and I need to go to a dentist, but
a) I am scared of the dentist and of what he/she will find in my mouth
b) I am scared of the cost
c) I am scared. I hate dentists, I hate dentists, I hate dentists. Also mosquitos. They're about equal, actually, on Rachael's fear list. Well, I'm more annoyed by mosquitos than scared. Replace mosquitos with leeches. And ticks.
