childhood fun?

don't you just love it when you're having dinner with your (large) family, and someone brings up some horrid thing from your past, say, a book entitled "all about me" in which a 6 year old kid is expected to fill out information about themselves, so that 15 years later it can be brought out at a family dinner for a good laugh. yea. so, i was a pretty weird kid, obsessed with fish and with enough budding personality disorders to...i don't even know. anyway. so, first my aunt proceeds to play a game of "let's see what sort of ridiculous answers julie wrote when she was 6." one of my personal favorites is the answer to the question, "what is your favorite subject in school?" and there is a list of all the subjects with checkboxes next to them, and you're supposed to check your favorite one or two subjects. no, me the uberdork, i check them all. except i cross out one box i originally checked, the one next to "recess." oh. my. god.

it was really quite disturbing. i know i was a really weird child, but looking at this thing really made that clear. on the page entitled, "my dreams and wishes" i left the whole page blank, except for the question, "things about me i want to change:" which i answered by saying "my life."

yes, that's correct. at 6 years old i was still the despressed fuck up i am today. how awesome is that.
