I love this blog.
http://www.alertnerd.com/?p=2113 Possibly because I did love the Buffy movie. It's cheesy and awful and nothing like the TV show, but if I hadn't fallen in love with the movie and with the pure concept of the movie I never would have watched the show. And that is a view seldom seen. Which does not make the idea of a new Buffy movie minus Joss and oh everyone but Buffy a good idea. That is a shit idea. Because the original movie while perhaps Joss executed wrong, was still Joss.
If there is one thing that alternately makes me both happy and sad it's that I have Joss to blame for the current trend. Charlaine Harris = YAY! Twilight = BOO! I could get more involved here and list way more authors in either direction for the Yay/Boo, but that's more work than I want. Suffice to say despite the Whedonesque article on it now, I came to the it's Joss' fault conclusion awhile ago. Since in one of the anthologies the authors of futuristic fantasy romance or urban fantasy as it's called to the world at not my work actually thanked Joss Whedon for Buffy. Which hey, I'm thankful too... I have lots of stuff to read.
