Okay really, the only thing this post is will be a phone conversation had yesterday morning at work.
"Thank you for calling ____ how can I help you?"
"I really hope you can help me."
"Alright, I do to. What can I do for you?"
"Okay, now I don't know how likely this is... I was wondering, do you have 8-track-"
"No, sorry."
"You didn't even let me finish my question."
"Sorry about that, sir. It's just that we don't-"
"Can I at least finish my question before you tell me no?"
"Yes, you can. Although with the lead in being 8-track it is unlikely my answer will change."
"I just want to finish my question."
"Right, go right ahead."
"Do you have any 8-track cassette cleaners?"
"No, sir. I'm sorry we don't."
"How do you know?"
"Well sir, we don't have anything involving 8-tracks."
"But, did you look? How do you know if you didn't look?"
"I know for a fact that we don't have 8-track cleaner."
"How's that, you got an encyclopedic brain?"
"Sorry, what?"
"You got an encyclopedic brain then? You know absolutely everything you carry in your store?"
"No I don't have an encyclopedic brain, but I do know we don't have any 8-track cleaner."
"You didn't even look."
"I understand that. I didn't look because there is nothing to look for. We don't even carry anything involving cassette tapes let alone 8-tracks."
"Oh, well then do you know who might carry them?"
Sadly, not having a "encyclopedic brain" I did not in fact know who might carry
