Where'd summer go?
Oh right, I spent it trying to get my puppy to turn into a half decent citizen. We're getting there. It's going to be harder now with work and all of that.
So yeah, I have my last of 3 "orientation" days for nannying this Thursday, but I start on Monday so ... It's kind of like it all starts this week. My last bunch of random Lenscrafters shifts happen now, and then I have a regular schedule there (if they keep giving me the hours I'm asking for).
I went out and bought a car tonight. Brand new and shiny and all of that. I'll be picking it up tomorrow! Unless I have to re-do the financing because I'm too poor to drive, in which case I pick it up after they look at Scott's paycheque and go "oh, okay, take the car". So now that I'll have a car, I can turn my 45 minute (one way) commute to work into a 10 minute (one way) commute. It'll make the rest of life easier too.
I'm excited for fall, but it's going to take some getting used to. My week consists of 40-45 hours of nannying, 9.5 hours at Lenscrafters, 3 hours at the dance studio, 2-3.5 hours of yoga at home, and 1 hour of dog walking. The dog walking will increase as Keira grows up and is able to go greater distances... We can only go for about 10 minutes at a time right now. I suppose the one day a week that I'm at home I'll spend cleaning my own house for free (as opposed to cleaning my employer's house and cleaning the lab at LC for $$$).
To help Keira get through her long(ish) days alone, we have a dog walker coming in to see her. Since she's a puppy it's more of a playtime visit, she'll have about 30-40 minutes of interaction right in the part of the day where she needs to get out, run around, and have some fun with someone. She's used to being up in the mornings right now and sleeping much of the evenings away, so we'll have to switch that around! She's pretty easy going and likes people so she'll adjust to it soon enough when she realizes it's better to sleep while she's alone.
It's bedtime. I'll try to write again within the next 2 months.... but I won't have just bought a car and my best friend won't be away, so who knows where I'll find a reason to add to this all!
