I wonder if the Big Bad Wolf is still going to get arrested for all those, you know, murders and grandma beatings. "I was being controlled by the pissed off spirit of a dead kid!" probably won't fly with the police.
Man, Supernatural is being the exact opposite of Heroes this season. The plot's moving along really briskly, at least half the episodes are better than I'm used to seeing from the show, and it's improved in almost every way from the last two seasons. Which makes me sad about Heroes, but pleased about SPN. Then sad about BOTH, when I remember that the imminent writers strike could possibly kill them mid-season.
Sam and Dean sure are arguing a lot this season. I guess it's to be expected, what with Dean being so stubborn about dying and Sam being so stubborn about saving him.
Heh. Dean has to play the huntsman and stop the big bad wolf. Loved that.
So, fairy tales. I didn't hate the episode while I was watching it. The werewolf ep last season I was pretty much hating and *facepalm*ing at all the way through, but this one... Not hands-down FANTASTIC, but not many particularly sucky things about it, either. I liked the music. I liked the "Hansel and Gretel" portion of the evening's gore (homicidal little old ladies = massive WIN), and the sign at the beginning on the building lot. Wasn't sold on how many coincidences there just HAPPENED to be in one town. Would have liked to see some more obscure fairy tales touched on. The episode didn't do anything particularly unexpected or wowing with them, but it wasn't horrible.
Hey, at least it was better than that fucking
Brothers Grimm movie.
I keep thinking there should be something symbolic about their walk through the park, but I can't put my finger on it.
I've seen a lot of people making a big deal about the Crossroads chick in their reviews. Jared's girlfriend or something, apparently. I've hated pretty much every variation on the crossroad scene AND the girls playing the demon (if only by association), so I was glazing over and tuning a lot of it out towards the end.
Then Sam shot her. And I spent a few minutes shouting "YES! YES! YES!" and doing victory arms. BYE, ANNOYING DEMON-SKANK.
Easy Silent Hill Moment this time. Alessa also loved fairy tales, and they make a strong appearance in the nightmare worlds. A fairy tale incantation kills the Glutton in Silent Hill 3, fairy tale music boxes unlock a puzzle for James in Silent Hill 2, and Harry has to be the huntsman and slay his very own fairy tale monster in Silent Hill 1.
"I'm gonna go stop a big bad wolf. Which is the weirdest thing I've ever said."
Harry shoots himself a fairy tale lizard. Apologies for the crap picture quality, but I've yet to find a good quality file of SH1.
