Excitement, Glee airs here this week or the next. I don't get either of the TV channels airing it, so if anything, I'll try to catch it online for the potential hilarity of the dubs (Kurt had better sound like a girl). For now, I'm just keeping track of how Kurt is presented in Spanish media, as I'm really curious about that!
So far, there hasn't been much buzz about him. The articles deal mainly with the teacher characters, as well as the foursome of Finn, Rachel, Puck and Quinn. I have managed to find two mentions! Not too flattering, though . . .
"A silly gay with a soprano voice who always wears fashionable clothes." Silly gay. Silly gay. Silly gay!!!
The others are described as follows:
Rachel - misfit who believes herself to be a total star, an annoying little girl played by an actress with experience in these Broadway musical things.
Finn - so as not to avoid any stereotypes, he's the football team captain.
Quinn - Finn's girlfriend can't be outdone (Note: in the stereotype aspect), she's the cheerleader captain, though she'll stumble in her reign.
Mercedes - somewhat ghetto African American girl, but with an incredible voice.
Puck - the hot rebel, there always has to be one of these.
Tina - somewhat lonely Korean girl. (Note: I love that Mercedes is explicitly called African American, but Tina is just Korean.)
Artie - a boy in a wheelchair.
Kurt - a tenor who poses as a soprano (Note: wtf), very prone to see the dramatic side of things. (Note: i.e. gay, but at least this article attempts to be tactful).
Mercedes - a dynamic diva wannabe. (Note: what does 'dynamic' even mean here?)
Arty (sic) - a paralytic guitar player who passes the time attempting to avoid harassment from the tough guys at school.
Tina - something of a klutz, who needs to contain her stuttering before going on stage. (Note: when has Tina ever been a klutz? Oh, whatever.)
I'm hoping that the articles improve in quality as the episodes air, 'cause I'm kind of speechless at the moment.
