I've been at Ramapo for a week and half now and I'm feeling pretty good. I love how my days revolve around art and I show up for class to spend 3 hours drawing or making collages. It makes me so much happier to be in school when I'm doing something that I enjoy and that's something that I really needed. Plus, the people here are friendly and my roommate is awesome so I think my time spent on campus will be pleasant enough.
I was in the city over the weekend and I went to see a free dance performance at Battery Park with Josh and some friends from the bakery. There were five companies performing and they were all incredible. American Ballet Theatre was totally showing off with their unbelievable athleticism and The Joffrey Ballet did this rather pornlike, but beautiful performance. The others - Boston Ballet, New York City Ballet, and Balletmet Columbus - were good as well, though I liked American and Joffrey the best. But I got so excited by the whole thing and I'm glad that I had the chance to see them all perform. There aren't many opportunites to see five well-known, respected companies perform all at once and for free.
