Truth be told: I dont fucking "get" american football.
baseball.. hit the ball pitched by the pitcher. take as many bases as you can before the ball can be sent to where you can be tagged out by the ball. 4 bases score a point. score enough points in 8 innings or so and you win. Easy enough
soccer.. kick the ball into the other teams goal and dont touch the ball with your hands unless you're the goalie. easiest game to fucking understand.
basketball.. similar to soccer except you bounce the ball while moving. put the ball into the other team's goal to score. easy
hockey.. same as soccer and basketball except you're on ice with sticks and the ball is now a puck. score to win. plus bonus fist-fighting. easy and fun
golf.. hit the tiny ball into the tiny hole in less than par, which is just the amount of hits it takes for whatever hole. lowest score closest to par wins. easy, fun. almost the vacation of sports.
tennis.. is like table tennis, except you can play it outside in a court. They even give you 15 points for making the tennis ball hit the other side of the court without the other player hitting it back. They give points away in that game people. they practically play it for you.
american football. assemble at scrimmage line. ball goes to quarterback for throw or run. ball goes into play, everyone falls down as they move back and forth on the field. penalties for every possible thing, from being in the wrong spot to god knows what. flags thrown. kicking is the actual time the foot makes contact with the "football". more penalties. replays. everyone falls down again. everyone stands around to run down time...
WHAT THE FUCK! That isnt fun. I personally dont see it as fun. It's a weird game that doesnt make sense to me. I've had the whole thing explained to me everytime i watch it by people who tell me i'd like it if i understood it. All it looks like to me as a bunch of millionaires running around trying to not get hurt to enjoy their free ride of a sport. If i havent got football by now, i dont think i will.
