don't turn around...
i witnessed a car wreck today. it happened a block away from my dorm. this speeding driver failed to slow down at the red light (to which she was oblivious) and her brakes didn't work on the slick road, so she crashed into the turning car. it was the epitome of a car wreck - screeching tires, shattered glass and plastic, and the loud CRASHH. i was about 10ft away from the accident spot...i'm fuckin glad i decided to jay walk at that particular time and place, otherwise they would have had to peel my pancaked body off of the road. shew, cars is bad.
so yeah, first day of classes.
new faces, old acquaintances, new professors, old shortcuts. nice mix.
today i had both chem & bio lab. chem lab only lasted 20mins (out of 2hrs), and bio lab was non-existent, it doesn't start until next week. kinda sucks because i walked all the way from north campus to get there, a good 20+mins. ah well. chem lecture lasted the entire time, 50mins, we already started covering material. but it was fairly entertaining because the professor, Dr. Ades, has a neat sense of humor - she makes odd analogies, trying to help us learn things, but it only makes sense in her head. i like people like that, though, who just way whatever the hell they're thinking - not caring if you get it or not.
i want a bike.
looking back, i really could have done without a car here at college. it's so much of an expense, and i don't even drive around THAT much. i mean, i know enough people to bum rides to convenience stores and whatnot. granted, i wouldn't have been able to make (frequent) trips home, not having a car would have been an excellent excuse for me stayin and enjoying an extra weekend or two here in lexington. i'm not on working this weekend, so i think i'm gonna hit up a few yard/garage sales. i want an old red bike...so i can pimp it out. a shiny silver bell, handle-bar streamers, night lights, and a license plate.
