Oh Easter Drama
Ok, so that whole fire department coming to the rescue of the poor distressed family to save their nervous cat stuck in the tree is SOOOOO untrue!
On Easter, my cat Kachina was spooked and ran 24 feet up into a tree in our yard (Yes, 24 feet!!). So, my father and I, me being the "I am going to save my cat!" girl first climbed up the 10 ft ladder and still was 14 feet short LOL Then, I was like OOOh let's call the fire department because that cliche cannot fail LOL dumbass me ;) Anyway we call the dept. and they say that they have only ambulances available and they would call a volunteer to come.. THEN they called back and tell us to call the Animal Rescue ppl..so we call them and they say, "oh we're logged off for the night. But I'll try to call someone" who then tell us to call the fire department again and that they dont have ladders..so some sheriff calls us and says "why dont you wait until shes hungry, they usually land on their feet" - I'm sorry, what??? LOL
Needless to say, after she started to FALL out the tree we grabbed her (dad on his 10 ft ladder and me on the 8ft LOL) and got her in the house.
That'll learn me for relying on New Kent Fire and Rescue LOL ;)
