Just finished the moving process this weekend. All of the furniture and organized boxes that I packed were taken care of one weekend and the next we primed the walls of the old house and cleaned everything up in the hopes that the deposit will be returned in a timely manner.
It's rather nice to be able to afford a better neighborhood. We've just moved to Cooper-Young, a couple of blocks from the police station and on the right side of Young. So far we've met just about everyone in a one block radius. The neighbors behind us are wonderful and our dogs seem to adore one another. Randy and I are both working our tails off. Raises are due in this month for both and it appears to be very promising. Life in general is a success. Stressful, full of trial and error, but still good and happy.
Every moment I can I'm unpacking, organizing and decorating. I've got a long way to go, but I'm already making a list of things I'm going to fill that time with once I'm done. I'm creating a studio corner in the computer room and trying to make the entire house have the feeling of serenity that's been missing from my life for a while now. So far so good.
Oh, I almost forgot to brag on Randy! He gave me the most wonderful Valentine's Day present. A station-wagon! I've wanted a vehicle that 1) doesn't have a craptastic transmission 2) has air conditioning 3) has a radio that works 4) I wouldn't be embarassed to pick my grandmother up in 5) I can take the dogs to the park in and 6) that I can fit large canvases in. A huge stress in my life was lifted off my shoulders that day. To think, I was actually kindof convinced that he had gotten me that laundry-center I kept asking for. Though now that I think about it I'm rather glad he never did because this house has an actual laundry room, and a dishwasher, garbage disposal, ice-maker and central heating and air. Oh, I really love modern living!
