Name: Kaldur'ahm
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Fandom: Young Justice
Time period: post-Secrets episode, so after he has met with Batman & some of his team to defend his friends about being a mole.
Pokemon: Dewott
Distinguishing Characteristics: Black, eel-like markings (tattoos) that go up the arm. Since Dewott's upper paws are already black the markings are white on that part of the fur, the markings go up his arms and end around his back/neck. His eyes are a silvery-blue.
Explanation: There are several reasons I chose Dewott as Kaldur's pokemon. For starters it is a Water-type pokemon that shares similar abilities to Kaldur. Not only does it manipulate Water but it can dual-wield the Scalchops attached to its legs as swords, similar to Kaldur who has hydrokinetic powers and often manipulates water into dual swords. I also chose Dewott for its ability to live on both land and water, Kaldur is from Atlantis but can function on land just fine. Dewott also strikes me as more serious and (obviously) more experienced than Oshawott which is the main reason I chose him over the first level form since Aqualad is also more experienced as a fighter and certainly very serious minded.
History:
Young Justice Wiki Article Personality: Kaldur is the leader of the new team and this is by no accident. He has a natural ability to take command and knows how to issue said commands as well. The others take note of this trait and this is why he is elected leader of the team, first nominated by Robin. While he can find being the leader burdensome at times, he hardly complains about it aloud. Instead he completes the missions assigned to him while doing the best he can to look out for his teammates.
To his team, Kaldur is very much the big brother type. He will lend an ear when needed, but also tries to teach the other team members respect and how to be a stronger unit. He is a very responsible individual and is often the first to suggest they report something to Batman or the League, especially when he thinks the team is over their heads. He is also slow to anger which helps when dealing with the bickering and sometimes immaturity of the rest of his team (especially Robin and Wally). Despite his soft-spoken voice he has a strong presence and all of this helps him in his job as the leader.
Kaldur can be a typical teenager at times. He can be impulsive, as seen when he goes off with Robin and Kid Flash to investigate Project Cadmus. Despite his stoic appearance, Kaldur does know how relax and enjoy himself, but his responsibility always comes first. He has a good relationship with his teammates and puts a lot of his trust in them, even letting them know his real name as opposed to just calling him Aqualad. He can empathize with others to a certain degree which often puts him in the role of mediator. Kaldur is extremely respectful to everyone, whether they are older or younger than him. He always looks for insight from his fellow teammates but knows when a decision needs to be made that it comes down to him to make it.
Kaldur is a rather private person so while he has not expressly shared his hopes and dreams with his teammates (that is, aloud in canon) a few of them can be inferred from the interactions he has had. For starters, Kaldur hopes that he can live up to the burden of being leader for this new team of superheroes. Not only does he wish his team to do well and work together, but he also wants to impress his mentors, especially his King (aka Aquaman) and Batman (aka the hardest person to please...ever). Not only does he have high expectations for himself, but Kaldur has high hopes for his team as well. He knows they have the potential to do great things, and they have, but sometimes it can be troublesome getting there since all of them are still new at this.
Another dream of Kaldur's, but which might no longer be a dream, is to be with Tula. Tula was a fellow classmate of his as the conservatory along with Garth. The three of them learned the magical arts together, however when Kaldur took on the role of Aqualad he ceased his studies. This caused him to spend less time with Tula and, as such, Tula grew closer to Garth instead. Recently Kaldur considered returning to his home just to be with Tula again and to resume his studies, however instead he found out that Garth and Tula were now dating. Despite his usual demeanor, it is not too hard to believe that Kaldur still carries some feelings for Tula and might even still dream of her as the one for him. However, as Garth is his friend too, he would never think to try and come between Garth and Tula. So, for now, Kaldur has put his dream of love aside. Whether said dream will return in the future is anyone's guess, but his major goal right now is just to become a better superhero and leader.

First Person:
1) You discover a secret passage in a basement. What do you do?
I would contact my team and see if they wanted to join me in exploring it. After all, there is no telling what could be down there and we function better as a group.
2) Have you ever wanted to communicate with aliens from another planet?
I have spoken with Superman, Martian Manhunter, and M'gann several times. They are from Krypton and Mars, respectively. I suppose it wound be interesting to meet other alien species, but to answer this question directly I already have spoken with alien races from other planets.
3) Would you feel comfortable stating your opinion to a very important person?
I would make certain to speak in a diplomatic and cautious manner, but otherwise I would feel comfortable speaking to a very important person. I have spoken to them in the past, even my own king, so I do not see how it would be a problem.
4) Do you like to do things according to plan?
Yes. It can be difficult in what I do since things often do not go as planned, but that is why it is good to have back-up plans and the ability to think on one's feet. I am still learning the ability to improvise on the battle field, but most of the time I would prefer if things would follow an established plan as opposed to having to improvise everything.
5) Do you think that lies are sometimes necessary?
While it is not preferred or something I enjoy doing I cannot help but say that yes, sometimes it is necessary. Sometimes one must do things that they do not like to do in order to protect others. However, I have also seen how lying to protect someone can backfire, so I am a bit hesitant to do it again in the future, especially to my friends.
Third Person: 300
To the east of New Shaleton, a mysterious garden of standing stones gives an eerie field to a meadow by the water. Recently, bewildered Pokemon have been appearing in their long shadows...and so the garden's reputation grows murkier by the day.
Kaldur felt strange as he woke from the dream about the badge and the mysterious voice. He did not remember falling asleep after picking up the badge from the floor of their base, but it had been a long night so perhaps he had been more out of it than he originally thought. That was easy enough to explain away, but Kaldur was not sure if he could explain away the mysterious voice. It had reminded him of M'gann's telepathy but he did not recognize the voice so it was not from her or any of the others that might have been connected to him in that way. Not to mention the strange questions that the voice had asked him. It never responded to the answers, just moved on to the next question without pause. Kaldur wondered if perhaps there was some meaning there, but it was a lot more pleasant than some of the nightmares that had plagued him as of late.
He started to drift more into consciousness and more strange things started to fall into place. Not only did he feel strange but the environment he was in did not feel at all like the confines of an underground base. No, it was far too airy and he could smell salt water nearby. He was most certainly not on a bed or the floor of the cave and this, above all else, is what made him sit up finally and look around. As soon as his eyes were open he knew something was wrong.
Kaldur looked down at his body and if he had not been awake before he was now. He examined his small paws covered in black fur that eventually became blue and looked over his shoulder to see that he now sported a beaver-like tail as well. Just to be sure he was actually seeing this right he flapped the tail up and down once before putting his face in his paws and taking a few deep breaths so that he did not freak out. No, there had to be an explanation for this new form and he was not going to find it if he panicked just now. He took a few more deep breaths before lifting his head again. He was not sure what sort of creature he was only that it was small, furry, and seemed to be at least partially aquatic which made him feel a tad bit better.
Now that he was looking up again Kaldur was able to see that his new environment was a Stone Garden and just past that a meadow leading out to what he presumed was the ocean. Cautiously he stood up, his movements slow as he adjusted to the feel of this body. It was strange having a tail, but at least he could stand upright. He noticed that he had none of his weapons or clothes for that matter but he supposed that made sense given that he was some sort of animal now. He blinked, however, when he saw that there were apparently two scallops attached to his lower limbs. He reached to touch them and realized he still had that strange badge in his hand.
Seeing the badge shocked him a bit, "Perhaps I am not dreaming after all." He stared at it for a long time. Between the badge, the smells, and how everything felt he had a hard time thinking it was a dream at all. Kaldur sighed again, tucking the badge away and then looking off into the distance, "I will learn nothing by standing here. I must try to find answers elsewhere." He would need to learn how this body operated as well and he could only hope that if he did find his friends or anyone for that matter, that they would be able to understand him and help him. With that decided, Kaldur walked slowly to the edge of the garden and headed for the ocean. A beach tended to be very populated and would be likely to have at least one or two people about. Of course, another reason was he felt a little more comfortable near the ocean and in this strange place and in this strange form he wanted anything that was the least bit familiar to him.
