I was reading through different LJ communities and came across one entitled
customers_suck. I started to leave a comment on one of the posts and that got the ball rolling to where I was bitching about my own job.

I love both of the jobs that I have. I just don't have so much fondness for the people I encounter on a daily basis.

In regards to my last post, I'm fine. Seriously, I'm doing all right. I was just frustrated at a lack of money. But, hey, I'll get through it. Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments! You're the best. *hugs*

So, without further ado, here's my rant on
customers_suck. I decided to post it here because I know there's at least one person on my flist who knows what I'm talking about. You know who you are. :-)

Ranting about the academic library:
Cell phones are not allowed to be used in the library. People know this! There's a sign on the door, for pete's sake! What ends up happening is that someone will answer their cellphone and head out the door. Yay, gold star for them. Unfortunately,  sometimes, a person will say "Hello!" really loudly right before they head out the door. The library has one main room and voices carry. Why can't people wait just a few more seconds and actually walk out the door before saying anything?!

Notes to rude patrons:
 1. Don't think hiding behind a computer will allow you to use your cell phone. I've got ears!
2. Don't try to be smart in your actions or your tone of voice either. You are not the big shit you think are. Just because I look young (I'm 25, but look 20!) doesn't mean you have to stop respecting me. I can get quite bitchy when provoked.
3. Hey, arrogant rude guys? Why do you insist on singing when you come into the library?! Nobody wants to hear you and no one will think you are cool if you sing. Leave it for outside.

Ranting about the public library:
Note to parents:
1. The library is not your children's playground and the librarians are not your children's baby-sitters either. Don't let your little brats run around like wild howler monkeys. There are children's programs, but only for well-behaved and polite children. Please tell me well-behaved children are still out there somewhere.

Note to all patrons:
Please be patient with all library staff. When I am attempting to tell you something, it's probably something I think you should know due to the question you've just asked me. I'm not just talking out of my ass.

*eats chocolate and feels better* Someone just left me a comment with the following LJ community info. Sweet...
