This won't come up often due to her nature, but Toph has the ability to perceive lies by feeling the change in vibrations in a person’s breathing and heartbeat. This ability isn’t absolute, however. She has to concentrate for this, and stone cold liars or professionals who lie consistently will fool this ability quite easily.
So, In the rare occasion that she might use this ability, it would be helpful if you answered these questions:
1. Is your character human? Aliens, robots, and anything without human body rhythms are immune to this ability.
2. Is your character capable of lying straight faced? Example: Azula. She point blank lies to Toph’s face in Ba Sing Se and Toph felt no change whatsoever. Basically: If you’re a cold blooded killer or lie easily, you can get away with it.
