So I started dating this gal not too long ago...
It always seems to start that way, doesn't it? It's to the point now when I mention that I am seeing someone, there has to be a question of "what's wrong with her".
Things seemed to be going along well. She let me know that she had gotten out of a relationship gone bad about a month ago. No big deal, over and done right? Wrong.
It's not just that though, she has had a rough past year and things are starting to get to her, so of course now that she and I have met, gone out a bit, and I find myself caring for her, she mentions that she needs to take it very slowly and that she feels emotionally numb.
*sigh*
She's given me my permission to bow out and persue other romantic interests, but me being me, there are no others. Also, it's just not in me to turn my back on someone I care about, especially when they are at a low point in their life.
I know how this will probably go. One day she will just not be interested in being with anyone and we will go our separate ways. It's sad because she really is fun to be with.
Oh well I guess it's time for me to take the advice I have been giving to Trouble: "enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts".
