Annie, Paul, Ben, Aaron and Steve- I wanted to come back and leave another note for all of you; I have been thinking about your mother ever since I read the news. She loved you all very much, and spoke many times about how proud she was of the five of you, and the journeys you have all traveled separately and together.
This journal here is really the story of your family; Susan has been documenting here for over a decade your lives, in stories and photographs and reminiscences. In this journal, she allowed us all to travel with you from California to Oregon, from the first house on the other side of the mountains to the one with the pellet stove and the chickens in the yard. She talked of your accomplishments and your struggles, your childhoods, her childhood, your significant others and children, and how much she loved all of it.
I hope in time all five of you can come back here and read the stories she told of your family. It's a long read -- I've been an avid follower for ten years -- but the entries are rich in detail and warmth, just like Susan was.
Again, I am so sorry for your loss. She was one of a kind.
