Book of the Month(s)!
April and May are crazy, hectic months for many people I know, especially those in college. So this time, I'm going to suggest one book for both months, in part due to crazy schedules but also because it's a book you'll want to read slowly, its delicious.
The book for the months of April and May is:
The Orphan's Tales: In the night garden, by Catherynne M. Valente

And when you have some pieces together, check out this entry on Ms. Valente's blog where she is planning a gallery show of artwork inspired by Orphan's Tales to celebrate the release of the second volume. I'm already on board for this project, and I encourage my fellow artists to contribute as well!
Personally, I didn't want this book to end ;-) It was also one of the inspirations for this project, so expect to see me post LOTS of pieces inspired by this book in the next few months.
And if you get hooked like I did, the sequel comes out this fall! Squee!!
FURTHERMORE, Ms. Valente has now outdone herself, not only in watching our community and projects, but adding an extra incentive for us to put up our work ;-) Go see!
