As you saw, last weekend I had my graduation ceremony for my undergrad. I received a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor's of Science in Finance. I graduated Summa Cum Laude and with the President's Cup. Yay for me! :)
georgiandenny and
Thorny arrived on Friday. We had some tasty margaritas and yummy dinner at
El Mundo. Then an early night since I had to be at the ceremony at 7:45am.
The ceremony was a lot of sitting and waiting. We had about 800 graduates including all of the associates, bachelors and masters degrees. My actual walking across the stage is a blur. I wish I would have remembered to stop and look at Denny, who came up front to take a picture.
After, again, I think I was just too consumed in the moment, bc we hardly took any photos with friends and family. Oh well.
We had brunch at
The Patron before moving on to
Big Al's Beeritaville where my party was to be held. It has a nice patio with horse shoes and corn hole outside. Pool table inside where they were also playing the Kentucky game. It was very relaxing. Friends and family came and went over the course of about 4 hours. I think everyone had a good time.
When Denny, Georgia, Dwayne, Stephen and
TheBill went back to my house we ordered pizza and hooked up my new Wii. No big party plans for that night. I was out by midnight.
Sunday, everyone except Stephen left late morning. Stephen and I relaxed a bit before deciding to drive up to Huber's Winery and Orchard in Indiana. I had no idea the "farm" was going to be so huge and crowded! There is pumpkin picking, apple picking, corn mazes, hay rides, petting zoo, bakery, winery, cheese shop, farmers market, live music ... it's like the Disney World of farm fun. We did a wine tasting. I was impressed by the quality of wine. I didn't realize Indiana could produce anything palatable. Then we purchased a bottle of red, a cheese plate, and french bread plate to enjoy al fresco to the live music. What a lovely afternoon!
And on Monday night ... Stephen treated me to dinner at
Volare! Wonderful Italian food and wine.
I am a lucky woman indeed.
