Housewarming

Jul 01, 2009 14:11

I bought my house at the end of April and have been working my butt off to unpack. Everyone kept asking when they were going to get to see it, so I decided to have a Housewarming while I was on my summer break from school.

I still wasn't really prepared, but Stephen, Georgia and Denny helped me out and we pulled it off. I think everything turned out really great!

The front of the house. Stephen and I worked hard weeding and rebuilding the flower beds.

Living room. The couches were a great find on CraigsList.

Georgia & Denny brought me the print I picked out on our cruise 5 years ago. They told me they would bring it to me when I got my own house. We hung it in it's place of honor over the mantel.

Master bedroom. It's a shotgun style house, so you have to pass through my bedroom to get from the living room to the dining room.

The dining room before we got out all the food. You can see the big beverage container in the back that we filled with Sangria! Yum!

The final spread was homemade salsa, bean dip and cheese dip with tortilla chips. Also veggies, fruit, cheese and brownies. I wanted to keep everything to finger foods.

The kitchen .... where we did NO cooking except bake the brownies. I knew it was going to be super hot that day and I didn't want to have to cook anything.

We had the backyard all fixed up for different "conversation areas".

Denny took all of these pictures. He forgot to get a shot of the front porch and the new furniture that Stephen and Denny worked so hard to put together. It's so comfy and pretty.

Me and the women in my family. In the back ... me, my mom, middle sis, and little sis. In the front is my granny and aunt.

See the lights in the background on the fence? They look great in the evenings!

So, there ya go! Of course, it's still a work in progress. I will post pictures as we get more done. Like hopefully tonight's herbs and flowers. :D
