It's interesting to see the tension between the Ponds being scared the Doctor is "weaning" them off him and the Doctor being scared they're getting ready to leave for good. I confess I don't like the rate at which time has passed/is passing, but then I've never been a fan of "three months later" or "five years later" thing in any story. It makes me feel like I've missed something really important, but maybe I'm just weird like that.

I agree the shakri were too easily defeated in their unmanned spaceship with the control panel for their whole plan conveniently left unguarded. But hey, it meant a happy ending to the invasion with no one dying so that's cool.

I think I've figured out the perfect situation to finalise Amy and Rory's need to leave the Doctor but it's probably too obvious or too impossible, though it would make it less heart-breaking (for me anyway). Oh well...we shall have to wait and see.

And Brian is awesome!

thanks for the review! I watched this episode because of your review, I did not see previous season 7 episodes. I did not quite understand the numbers symbolism: why 7 when there are ony 6 sides of the cube, and why "the power of three"? is this just a phrase Amy made up or does it have some parallels in the episode?

what I liked most was the idea of slow invasion, silent invasion. it really reminds me about propaganda: how ideas are thrown out in the media, and how later, you hear your friends repeating these messages not realizing they are just transmitting what they were told.

Great farewell to the Ponds, great characters. KATE!! BRIAN!!

(Assuming that Mrs. Williams is out of the picture, can Kate and Brian now be shipped? ;) )

And the plot was rubbish. The cubes? Fun. Creepyish even. The reason/resolution? We could have come up with THAT.

Also, if they were monitoring the entire human race with the cubes....WHY WERE THEY KIDNAPPING PEOPLE?!
