Amaze me, America / Save me from Armageddon
I swear to god, this has to be the best week ever. It is the first time I have ever cried tears of joy over the government.
It keeps hitting me over, and over, and over, and it never ceases to be awesome.
Even some of the states were awesome (yay! south dakota) even if some should dislodge from the continent (california).
But I just realized what this actually means when I read a poem someone posted - Langston Hughes' "I, too, sing America"
This brings up privilege issues up the wazoo, but the idea that I had even the tinest bit to do with making that poem come true is a fairly awe-inspiring thought.
I realize this is an idealistic, emotional post, but, dang, it's nice to feel that way.
