So there's this book I want to buy. It's only available as an e-book, no problems there, I like e-books. But, it's only available as either a Kindle or a Nook book and I have an iPad. Everyone assures me that you can get free iPad apps for both Kindle and Nook, so I go to the respective websites. The Kindle app has only negative reviews - everyone ( Read more... )

I've been using a program called Calibre to convert files to formats that my iPad will read. I think it does kindle files, though I'm not 100% sure.
It's issues like this that really encourage piracy - if you can get it illegally with greater ease than a legal purchase...

Calibre sounds complicated. I'll come back to it if the Kindle app doesn't work.

It's because they *want* people to pirate things. It is the only explanation that makes sense. Otherwise whywould region specific DVDs even exist?
