Thank you for the meta, Mary!

I've been waiting for this episode for a looong time, and I was a bit afraid to be disappointed. Fortunately, I was not. I didn't know it was the same writers than in "Yellow Fever". I sure enjoyed this episode more.

Yes to every thing you said. What you said about the difference between Dean who never saw any alternative to the hunting life, and Sam, more protected, who could see what he was missing, is something that already had been speculated by a lot of meta and fics in the past, but it was good to see it confirmed it canon. That's what was so good about the episode: so much fanfic stuff on the boys' teenage lives had been confirmed. Or at least the fanfic stuff I could agree with, because I've seen speculated that the boys didn't get along so well as teenagers; this episode showed that they did, and I was very happy with that.

I think everybody can agree that Colin Ford did a terrific job. I loved him in "A Very Supernatural Christmas", and he was beyond awesome in this one. Sam is such a complex character, and he played every nuances: so cute and innocent that he broke my heart a few time, but with a hint of the sometimes scary hunter that adult Sam is. Brock Kelly grew on me, but his accent made it sometimes difficult for me to understand what he was saying.

I've read a lot of reviews of this episode, and it's funny to see that everyone seems to reminisce their high school years. It made me aware of how different American high school is from French high school.

I'll stop rambling now. Take care!

Elsa.

Thanks, Elsa! And the more American accents you listen to, the broader your understanding of our spoken language will be ... *grin*

I loved seeing the boys as teenagers, and I particularly applaud the show for the brilliance of casting young actors who could carry off these roles and look as if they could grow up into the young men we so know and love. They did yeoman work and then some!

Ahhhh ... high school was a long, long time ago ...
