Sermon Writing is Hard (Complete with Random Notes AKA Life Update at end)

When I agreed to preach the sermon for next Sunday (well, I had a bit more notice than a week, but anyway) I thought it would be at least kind of easy. I mean, I've been listening to sermons for a while now, I've written plenty of papers in college, and I've gotten up to speak in front of people in any number of classes and even more as a student ( Read more... )

I put up a friends-locked entry with more details about when I'm doing the sermon thing. I'm excited that you want to go!

I think it might have been Dark Alliance. I know I was the cleric of Helm - Alessia or however you spell it - and he played the moon elf necromancer - Ysuran, or however you spell that one. When it ended, there was a scene that seemed to imply there was a third one in the making.

I don't know if I'd be able to manage the in-character comments and quips as well if we played something like X-men. Part of the fun of playing was adding our own voice-overs to the scenes with exposition text... I guess if we did X-men I'd have to do a bit of research on them. Thanks for the suggestions!

And yes, NCIS is very cool. I've been catching up on episodes online as as USA and the Sleuth channel are showing the back episodes, so I'm not always totally clear on the continuity, but I at least have some clue. And I almost tried to watch the latest episode online during computer class, but decided that maybe that wasn't the best idea so settled for recording it and watching it when I got home. Though I can see trying to justify it to my computer teacher now - "But look at that impressive use of technology!"
