So, on my days off this past week, I took a quick "getaway" camping trip to my favorite spot in the White Mountains. It was just awesome, as it always is.
The first night we had a pretty good downpour during the overnight hours. The second night there was a threat of severe weather, with the possibility of tornadoes, but that line of storms ended up going to the north of our location. We could hear the thunder and see lots of lightning strikes on the mountains, but looking directly overhead, the sky was clear and full of stars. So odd, that, but strangely beautiful. The daytime weather throughout the two and a half days was dry and mostly cloudy, but with frequent peeks of sun through breaks in the overcaste.
I badly needed this little break from the job, and from the city. I'm feeling rested and much less stressed. I'm hoping to go back to the mountains again in a couple of weeks for another quick "re-charge."
I didn't take a lot of photographs this trip
