I know my presence on LJ has been almost non-existent and I should take more time to read your posts and make posts myself.
Things have been quite hectic for me. My hi-tech job is keeping me very busy since I'm handling all orders, samples, invoicing, commissions, the website, the CRM software, marketing communications, etc. I do like my job since I work with cool people and my boss is the best. I'm thankful to have what I have.
Then there's the Barb Rocks Presents part of my life with 3-4 shows a month and managing some bands. The shows are easy to book and run now since I've established myself so well. Bands want to play for me and refer me to other bands. I have a good reputation and a solid draw at each show.
Band management has been a bit different. Jade of Days is now on hiatus since their drummer ended up in the hospital a month ago diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins T-Cell Lymphoma Stage IV, which means the cancer is spread throughout his body and there's only a 40% survival rate. He's a fighter, so I hope that's a sign that he will beat this. The band is on hold while he undergoes chemotherapy. The other band I've been working with, Reflektiv, just decided to fire their lead singer since he had some alcoholism issues. They now need to write all new songs, figure out a new band name and find a new lead singer. So since my main two bands are on hold, I have taken on a new band called Blessings of Affliction, a melodic hard rock band looking for a vocalist. The nicest bunch of guys you can imagine.
Other than that, life is about the same. I'm still single, though there's a possibility in the air. My health is good and I'm very happy. I have a problem with one of my cats at home peeing where she's not suppose to, so I've locked her in the guest bedroom. This has worked out so far, but it doesn't solve the problem. I'm thinking of finding a new home for
Ginger. Let me know if you know someone who wants a cute cat. She needs to be in a home with lots of attention and then she won't cause problems.
Well, that's about it for now since I have to go to a meeting. But I promise to make a better effort to get on here more often.
I'm having a benefit show for Junior, the drummer of Jade of Days, this Saturday at the Cupertino Brit. Would love for everyone to come and show their support. Show starts at 9pm, $7 door charge goes to Junior and his wife to help with their bills.
