my life & a show, all in one!
This past Saturday's show was a huge success. Currency .357, without a lead singer, sure have quite a following and they rock out hard! I especially loved Opus Dai, a fantastic melodic metal band from LA that's quite theatrical to watch. Plus My Monster ended the show with a high energy, awesome set. Good times!
This Friday Jade of Days plays the Catalyst in the Santa Cruz Rock Wars, so I'm quite thrilled for that. Plus there's a bunch of birthdays this weekend, JC and Mitch both have birthdays this Sunday, and Joanna's is on Monday, but we are celebrating for her on Sunday. I made JC a collection of CD's for his birthday present, which I know he will love. Mitch will be in San Diego celebrating there.
June is a very busy month for me with shows, BFD, and my mom visiting. I haven't seen my mom since last fall, so I'm excited about her visit. Plus Jade of Days is in the Emergenza semi-finals and (most likely) the finals. They are the front-runners in the competition so far with the most amount of votes, so I'm pretty sure they have a good chance of winning.
I have a good show this Wed at the VooDoo, so I hope to see some of you there. It's mostly hard rock and metal with some really talented bands. Come check it out!
