Match Point

Yesterday I spent a fun day with Jeanie. I picked her, Heather, and their mom up and brought them where they needed to go, then Jeanie and I went to dinner at the Outback, which was just what both of us needed. Turns out that Match Point was playing at the Pruneyard, so we decided to go see it. I loved the movie! Definitely very Woody Allen with some good twists. Both Jeanie and I didn't think that Scarlett Johansson did her best role in this movie, but I was highly impressed with Jonathan Rhys Meyers. If you like Woody Allen and twisted stories of fate and love, go see it. Ended the day by going to be Brit to hang out with Terra and Travis. Mike G also showed up and we talked about my police case. Details in a separate post about that.

The man who said "I'd rather be lucky than good" saw deeply into life. People are afraid to face how great a part of life is dependent on luck. It's scary to think so much is out of one's control. There are moments in a match when the ball hits the top of the net and for a split second it can either go forward or fall back. With a little luck, it goes forward and you win...or maybe it doesn’t, and you lose.
